question regarding ipods-

the new models, do you HAVE to have USB 2.0 for it?

also, would you reccommend this product?
EDIT: WHY/ WHY NOT? Seems like the poll is pointing to NO: why?!!

I think that part of the spec for USB 2.0 is that it is backwards compatible with USB 1.1. So I don't think that they could call it USB 2.0 unless it would also work with USB 1.1 (albeit at a much slower rate).

No, it's optional. It comes with firewire. If you lack firewire support you have to buy the usb 2.0 adapter

huh? are you sure?

I just bought a v3 and use it with a firewire card. Sounds a bit hard to believe that apple would drop the firewire.

1) read the thread. your question was answered: the iPod is still firewire, with a USB2.0 adaptor

2) USB2 was designed to be backwards compatible with 1.1, you twit.

1) thanks, quite observant aren't you? what do you want me to do about it, shut the thread down?

2) aware of that, although a site i had gone to said usb 2.0 was required. thanks for pointing that out again so politely.
