Apple IPOD/ HP IPOD? what gives

Are there any differences, i thought Apple sold the Ipod, now i see HP selling it.

ipods crap anyway.....go for sonys new littke 20gb beast, infact creative an philips have better/cheaper hard disk mp3 players.....ipos (not a typo) looks good but it stops there.

the hp ipod comes formatted for the pc and the apple one for apples, so it saves you the trouble of formating


also dont get the new sony one, it doesnt play mp3's, only their own format

Sony sucks.
HP just rebadge Apple PC Ipods, no idea why.

And the iRiver is better, as it just plugs in and works (win Win 2k/XP). You can copy files directly over AFAIK, and support for mp3/WMA/OGG.
Sony = sucks total ass, in every possible way. (And when some of my mp3's and wmas got converted to ATRAC3 they were rendered unlistenable to on my Minidisc player, they had pops and all kinds of crap, the disadvantage of forcing someone to reconvert lossy compressed files)

yeah, so if you don't have a music library already, and you plan on never owning any music player but a sony, i think it might be worth it. otherwise, have fun reformatting all your mp3's.
