Apple Ipod battery replacement settelement bullcrap

So I was getting duped to think Apple will replace my third gen IPOD's battery for free.
Well I got the letter today, it seems I have to pay $29.95 plus tax to get the repair done.

I don't even think this pos worth $30. Apple can go suck it, I will never buy anything Apple related again.

They're easy to replace, especially in a 3rd gen.

Buy a kit off of ebay for $15 and change it out yourself.

Uh, that's not the answer. They have a settlement for a defective part..and they are CHARGING him for the replacement? That's insane and I'd contact whoever was involved with the settlement.

The batteries never were defective, it's just if you're a heavy user with it any battery will die (duh).

Just like the 1 year warranty that comes with apple ipods. For the first 6 months they'll take care of the shipping, for the last 6 months you have to pay $29.95 for fees associated with shipping and handling.

Oh and furthermore if you don't think the thing is worth $30, I'll give you $30 and take it off your hands.

Batteries get f0cked the more you charge them. I'm careful to not charge it all the time and definately don't leave it on charge.

? ipod batteries are 50 bucks right? atleast at frys.
not worth replacing an ipod battery for 30 bucks? are u kidding?

more and more actually. some of creatives line doesn't have obvious battery doors that i've seen. most lithium ion type stuff tends to not be easily replacable. finding the battery part is mostly easy for the apple. the sansa's got a full metal back, seems like u gotta crack it open? some of samsungs stuff doesn't seem to have a door flap either.

Good thing cell phone makers don't have their heads up their asses on this issue!
