Let the next round of lawsuits commence.
Let the next round of lawsuits commence.
“From our point of view, it’s important that Apple not be the developer for the world. We can’t take all of our energy and all of our care and finish the painting, then have someone else put their name on it,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the D10 conference earlier this year.
They are such cocky bastards arent they?
So Apple... you created the SMS idea to have the sender aligned to one side and the other party on the other side of the window?

Hmmm...
I don't think you are right. I don't think they are patenting individual "embodiments" but rather all of them combined. So they aren't patenting just a design where the the bubbles start from opposing sites, but the combination of all the things that make the UI the way it is.
They couldn't go after someone for having the conversation aligned on different sides.
Are they trying to patent voice bubbles now?
Oh I didn't research it... I was simply pointing out how vague the patents are now. By those pictures, that's kind of what it looks like no? The ridiculousness that someone can get a patent just by drawing something and penciling an idea.
All patents should require a working demo of exactly what is being patented and then a idea or shape shouldn't get a patent. This isn't the 50's... the patent office needs to get with the ages and require videos etc... showing exactly what is being patented.
it really looks like they just patented how stuff is displayed on a screen that happens to be as small as a phone, because computer have been doing the same thing just without touch
Are they trying to patent voice bubbles now?
Actually, if you read through the patent, it would appear to be about their new scrolling method in iOS.
Here's a linke to the patent in question: 8223134
Unless there are other patents that you're discussing, I don't believe that this particular one has anything to do with voice bubbles, lists, etc.
They'll be taking some android manufacturer to court over this, the patent sounds like it's for the vertical bar that appears when you scroll through documents/web pages and the android browsers use those.
If they used it before Apple applied for the patent, they're in the clear. Otherwise, yes they probably will end up in court over it.
They will end up in court either way.
