pulled the trigger on my nano Tuesday (the 13th) night around 8:30 pm (central time)...got the 4 gb w/ engraving...

It left China early Wednesday, was in Alaska Wednesday afternoon and delivered to my office this morning at 11 am...39 hours from order to delivery....

she is charging right now...all i can say so far is this thing looks awesome...

Mine, also black engraved, on schedule for delivery tomorrow.

Engraved are shipped straight from the factory in China.
 
What is so funny is Apple made (forgive me if numbers are a bit off) like 7-1 WHITE Nanos because they didnt think the black would sell (due to the U2 ipod).. From what I hear the black is outselling the white by 8 to 1 or something like that. (which is probably why yours came from china)
 
I ordered one engraved last Thursday and they tried to deliver it to me on Monday. I figured it would be a week or so at least (it's a gift for my wife). They wanted it signed for though so UPS wouldn't leave it, I'm going to pick it up in about an hour.

the expected delivery date on Fedex's tracking page for my nano was Monday, Sept 19... 🙂
 
i'm still waiting for mine, hopefully it'll be here soon, fedex showed that it shoulda been here yesterday, but it got held up in alaska.

Too bad the u2 had a red dial.. that looks terrible.
 
Yessss, the black one is hot. Everything I've ever ordered from apple either ships from China or Taiwan. I ordered my PowerBook last year, and pretty much got it overnight (I'm in Alaska).

They come from China because of the engraving.
 
Yeah, I usually get quick shipping on iPod's from China. It's faster than ordering a Mac and having it shipped from California, which makes no sense at all.
