I love having to get a permission slip from Steve Jobs just to install apps on my device.

This is so 1960's!

And in three weeks, when I pick up the Evo, I'll leave the 'Steve knows better than me' world behind. Apple makes great products but Steve wants you to kneel before him and praise all that he permits us to do with his products.

I've mostly enjoyed my two years of 3G iPhone use but I gave up saying 'Sir yes sir' when I left the military...

I wish more people are informed like us.
For the average user, they have no clue and the iphone is the greatest thing because its so simplistic.
I have had an iphone before and I do think its great but I refuse to be one of the sheep.

Of course they rejected it. How else can Lord Jobs proclaim that wifi syncing is the most amazing thing ever since no one else can do this yet?

Oh, nevermind that the MS Zune has had this feature for a while (which was Nov 2007-ish).

Apple is so far ahead of the rest of the world, they knew how ironic their 1984 ad was going to be almost three decades early.

If Apple is going to reject apps like this why don't they hurry the hell up and release their own wireless sync already. It was awesome when I had a Zune, and very useful.

They probably rejected it because they're going to release wireless syncing sometime soon. Until then, jailbreaking here we come.

I don't understand why people are such in arms about this.

You know what my massive pet peeve is? A phone that is choppy/laggy and a marketplace that has apps with the UI looking like it was designed in MS Paint.

Yeah we don't have wireless sync and that sucks, but really I'd rather have a robust appstore and a phone that is lag free.

QFT, even with Apple rejecting apps I still have a much bigger and much much better selection of apps than any other phone. I can't really say I'm missing any app because I have over 100 and my iPod Touch does everything I could possibly want it to do. I don't want Wireless Sync because I always sync while I'm charging, and honestly I don't sync that much. I do charge every couple days and it only takes a few seconds to sync my calender/contacts. I guess some people do want Wireless Sync but I don't see it being that big of a deal to most.

iPhone App Store apps are immune to bad design?

Wow, it took the mac fanboys over 8 hours to come up with a ridiculous, fallacious argument.

What are they going to coalesce around? Change the subject!

"Der, der, Android is choppy, its appstore sucks, and its apps suck... der."

You guys are slipping

Like I said, once Steve demos wireless syncing in action, you'll hear how much of a pioneer he is and how he can do no wrong.

Wait for it.

Are the Apple fanboy comments any worse than the idiotic "Lord Jobs" remarks from the ABA (anything but Apple) crowd?

The guy who wrote it should have known it would not be approved. It obviously violates the App Store guidelines. Yet another publicity stunt to try and make Apple look bad.

If you don't like Apple or their policies, don't get an iPhone. Easy fix.

Along the "virtual aisles" of the iPhone App store, stocked full of applications of every variety, I envision roped-off sections of shelves with little signs that say:

WE'RE SORRY, THIS PRODUCT IS UNAVAILABLE DUE TO A FUTURE APPLE INNOVATION.

:D

lol publicity stunt? We're not the ones who made the article. This is the same song over and over and articles like this have been happening since day one. Apple rejects tons of apps that improve functionality of the phone. All you guys defend it like it's a good thing to reject apps that improve functionality. I just don't get you guys most of the time. Like I said before, there's a difference between App monitoring and App restricting and they restrict anything they don't like. Be it political satire or great apps that improve the phone. I seriously don't understand how you guys can defend acts like this. Oh this is a good idea, we'll reject it and throw it in our next OS release then people will call us revolutionary.

You guys do realize that even with an iphone you don't have to bend over for Jobs right? Just jailbreak the fucker like everybody with half a brain does and quit bitching.

I am dissipointed that Apple rejected this app, especially if there are no reasonable (security/system crashes/etc) grounds for doing so.

That being said, that is one of the 'downsides' of an iphone, but one with which I am fine with. Just like some Android phones have spotty software keyboards or poor touchscreen sensitivity, etc etc.

@Zerocool: if I had a buck for every thread in which you mention the 'rejection of political satire omgwtfbbq!!!' I wouldn't need to work another day in my life...what are you talking about? I know of two instances: the one around election with obama and then the recent one with the political cartoons, but that one is being allowed.....so please enlighten me.

Easy. It's all in the iPhone Developer's Agreement. Nobody should be surprised when their app is rejected if it clearly violates the terms of the agreement.

It's not a democracy. It's not an open software distro. It's Apple's App Store for Apple's phone. If you don't like the terms then don't buy an iPhone and don't develop for it. Simple as that.

Thank you Steve for ALLOWING people, who are obviously incapable of deciding for themselves what they should and shouldn't be able to access, to see political satire on their phones :D
