Who said that? Who ever did was a moron because the evolution of ipod to iphone to ipad was so completely obvious that it was no surprise Steve Jobs took advantage of it. I just do not see Apple coming out with new, "innovative" products from here on out though. If Apple burns through all their cash on extraneous projects, then please, by all means as nothing would make me happier than seeing Apple die.

Cars are a total different animal than electronics. Margins on cars are not huge except when you get into the very expensive ones which obviously don't sell a lot of. Apple is used to huge margins on their products. To me it doesn't make sense.

I'm 100% sure Apple is making a car but not a car to sell by the thousands, just a couple cars to show off as proof of concept and to test their various technologies which they have been making already.

This is the dumbest idea, Apple is actually thinking of getting into Cars. Tesla is not even making a profit and all they do is make cars.



This will be the equivalent of Operation Barbarossa for Apple, It will eat thier capital and preoccupy them with the Auto industry while their Core products will suffer.

Apple will put forward their expectations and standards for quality for a China car plant and force them to comply until the bar is met. They make cars for less, but charge more than everyone else. People still buy them anyway cus it's Apple. Competition gets beat not through superior make of product, but through superior waging of litigation wars and patent trolling, delaying and staggering competitors from getting their product to market while simultaneously draining their resources.
