Apple Cinema Display VS latest ASUS Monitors

How do the IPS LED Apple Cinema Displays from 2010/2011 compare to an Asus monitor such as this:

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PB278Q-...0656&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+27+inch+monitor+ips

For high level color/video work?

I was looking at dropping $1000+ for a pro color monitor with 14-bit LUT, etc. but I'm not sure it's neccessary, I have been working happily on 2x 24" Apple Cinema Displays for years. And just learned that they may not be quite as "pro" as I thought?

Here are the specs for the ones I have:
http://www.everymac.com/monitors/ap...s/apple-led-cinema-display-24-inch-specs.html

14ms response time.

Would I better off with that ASUS monitor, or a used 27" Apple Cinema Display from 2011 that I could get for around $250?

Or another options for around $500-$600?

Just not surte anymore if I need something as high-end as say the NEC here:

https://www.amazon.com/NEC-Monitor-...id=1499410828&sr=8-2&keywords=nec+27++monitor

Thanks for help!

Dell ultrasharps are generally seen as a good starting point for color accurate work that doesn't need the highest end stuff (NEC, Eizo, etc).

UP2716D would be my suggestion, it's 2560x1440 60Hz with 8-bit + FRC panel and with 14-bit LUT. 100% sRGB, 100% Adobe RGB, and 98% DCI-P3.

~$630.

To note, the newer U2717D is not as color accurate, though it's cheaper if you don't need the 10bit panel.

Thank you, this is a helpful recommendation!

Still hoping someone can speak to some of the more specific questions above as well though
