Apple Business Services - any different from the normal retail experience?

The thing I hate most with Apple is the retail store. That's probably my least favorite place to be in the world. I just can't stand the idiots bothering me that think they know everything and try to sell me crap I don't need. They generally don't listen to me; I'm very clear with them that I have specific needs and that I'm not the average user. I have no interest in drinking the punch.

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has dealt with their business services? I'm not sure what Apple calls that service, but I know they have some kind of business sales/support program. Is there anything to gain from going with them, or is it about the same?

I've never had that experience at the Apple Store. Then again whenever I go in I know what I'd like to buy or go in to have something fixed or replaced. I have never even been asked if I wanted to buy any accessories or anything.

If I recall his earlier comments and threads correctly, Slugg is just about the most unlucky individual you can imagine when it comes to the Apple store. I have also always had a perfectly fine experience there, certainly as compared to other retail alternatives (Best Buy)

I don't mind paying for better service if I have to, I just need to know if it's worth it. When searching on teh intarwebz, I get:

- this. Useless.
- JointVenture. Now this looks promising; a loaner program? They'll let me borrow a MBA or MBP while my personal machine goes missing for 7 days to replace a keyboard? SWEET!

Oh, and then there's this:
How to Qualify. Joint Venture membership is available to business customers only at the time of purchase of an Apple Macintosh computer

... Are you serious? Oh and check this out:

Please note, however, that the Stay Running and the other Joint Venture Services outlined above are not product warranties or an extended service contract ...

It's almost to the point that if shit hits the fan, I'm forced to impulse buy an entire Mac if I *CAN'T* afford downtime. There has to be another way?

I can't be the only small business user for Apple products. Does anyone here have any experience with this?

The only time I've ever had someone approach me in an Apple Store is when they asked me if I needed help, I politely said no, and they left me alone. Yes, people can have bad experiences in the Apple Store, but to be honest I feel more that you are being difficult with them than them being difficult with you.

When you go into an Apple Store, what are you doing there? Are you trying to buy a computer? And what are your specific needs?
