Well trial/test drive apps are usually the free versions of those apps. It's a hard process to get a refund.

Hypothetically I would pirate the app, then I would buy it...

Hypothetically I would ban you, and then I wouldn't undo it...

You can, but it costs the developers money.

If you buy an app for $10, the dev gets $7 and apple gets $3 (I think that's the ratio anyways).

If you get a refund on an app, you get $10, and $10 comes out of the developer's pocket, while apple keeps their $3.

I have gotten refunds, but only for apps the removed from the app store. Getting a refund hurts the developer in a massive way. Apple charges the developer the full refund cost, but only pays the developer a portion of that price and takes the rest as their cut.

In short, apple never loses. No matter what they get to keep the money.

Hypothetically is the key word here ;)

But on a serious note: Developers need to come out with either a striped down free version of their app or a 15 day trial... if I see an app with out either pshhh not risking the $$$

I'm on a blackberry 9700 from a iPhone their app store has a lot more trials
one thing I disliked about the Apple App store... I do miss the large amounts off apps

You probably can read the reviews but just because billy bob and 100 other people are happy with it doesnt mean I will be

This is my issue with buying high priced apps.

$1 here and there, isn't an issue for me, and typically even $5, I'm ok with if I don't find it truly amazing.

But I recently purchased Navigon for $60 and have had nothing but issues with it. It doesn't keep your place when you exit the app. It doesn't find my GPS location 80% of the time, etc... so I requested a refund, and surprisingly they gave it to me. So if you really hate the app, then at least try.. but this is something I would request sparingly, and typically only if you're having technical issues with the app. Like for me, GPS just didn't work.
