What if i have an older version of OSX, such as 10.4 or 10.5, can I upgrade to Lion for $29.99 as well?

Probably not as you have to have the Mac App Store. I'm really hoping Apple does some kind of boxed release.
Does anyone even read links?
The link that I posted had a guide to take the disk image it uses to install Lion and image it to a DVD/USB and then run a clean Lion Install...
I've done over 20 years of developement work. It's not like Lion is leaps and bounds different than SL. 10 bucks as opposed to 30 bucks is resonable. Remember way back like 20 years ago when MS had a minor update to DOS 6 ( I could be wrong on the version) and sold the DOS 6.2 for 10 bucks to users who had 6? I feel this is the same.
Relax guys, its not like I said APPLE is the DOUCHE for even charging for this crap!
But what happens if you don't have a quick internet connection? 4GB download?
lucky for you that 30 today is like 10 back then. ever heard of inflation?
Initial download, sure. 4GB isn't a lot these days.
Jeez guys, get off the price discussion. It's $30 for ALL of the computers on your account.
^ Truth. 10 licenses for $30.
When my family has issues with their windows pc, and cry for help, I just say "save up and GO GET A iMAC!".
(But all mac users know where Im coming from...)
i think i will get lion, but only after microsoft release an update for office 2011 so that it works properly. i really need excel and word and i wasn't a big fan of neo office.
What issues do you have with Office 2011 and Lion? I am forced to use Word daily and haven't had any issues.
well, from what i have read so far there are some compatability issues with the new software and microsoft office. of course, i don't know for sure as i have not tried the new software, i am basing my assumption upon what i have read. If i am wrong, then i will get the new software when it is released. - i get my info from this site roaringapps.com/
Most of those issues seem to be from DP2. We're on DP4 now, so I doubt you'll have any issues with it.
Foolish me, what is DP2 and DP4?
Sorry I always forget to write those out.
DP = Developer Preview.
thanks, i tried to google dp first, but that wasn't exactly what I was looking for
:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
thanks for the sig!
