Apple AirPort Express WIFI Support!

Hello guys,

I am thinking of upgrading to Apple's new wifi, Airport Express, for many reasons...
Anyways I live in a Duplex (2 floor), and use TP-LINK 54M Wireless Router with eXtended Range (TL-WR542G).
Does the Airport have the same power? To distribute internet as my TP-LINK wifi? Or is it weaker cause it's smaller?

By the way; I live in Lebanon, and here the walls are not wood neither the floors!
But if Airport's frequency is the same as my TP-LINK's than everything's OK with me...

Thanks,
Ara

I'm guessing that it's probably best to stay with the same brand device for both the router and extender. Maybe more expensive, but also better end result.
Apple's Airport Extreme + Airport Express, for example. The latest versions of those are dual-band capable: 2.4 & 5.0 GHz.

You may want to check out the thoroghput charts over at smallnetbuilder.com. He tests each device in different test locations and has a methodology that produces consistent results. You probably won't find your TP-Link router on there, but you'll get a pretty good idea of where the AirPort Express is in it's performance (pretty good) and what you might find around the same price range that delivers comparable performance and might have more features you want.
