So I just got a new Dell with a Broadcom wifi card (Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card) and it's having compatibility issues with my Airport Express access point. The Airport works fine with all other wifi cards I've used on it and the Dell works fine on all access points I try to use it with, but when I try to connect to the Airport it only works maybe 1 out of 5 times.
I have no idea why it will only work intermittently like this. I've tried changing the AP's channel but it doesn't make a difference. When I look at the Dell wlan card utility when the card is unsuccessfully trying to connect, it shows spikes of noise which I'm assuming is the AP. The noise isn't present when the card is successfully connected. Here's a link to show you what I'm talking about.
Am I just SOL? Will they just not work with each other? If so that sucks cause I really like the AirTunes feature on the AirPort, but maybe someone here will know how to fix it.
