would you look good in one?

It probably goes without saying, but in case you're an idiot, consider that most of the links in this thread are NSFW & not advisable to view shortly before eating dinner. First reply sums up why. -Admin DrPizza

A brief moment in style: Sales of Speedo-style trunks soar in warm weather

They have long been consigned to fashion's hall of shame, but Speedos, much to the dismay of the fashion police, appear to be making a comeback.

Usually limited to professional swimmers and flamboyant Italian Romeos, retail experts have reported a 400 per cent year-on-year increase in online searches for the brief mens' swimwear.

The trend appears to have been building momentum for a couple of seasons, though with a wash-out summer last year, perhaps there was less opportunity to indulge.

Department stores John Lewis and Debenhams, both said they had enjoyed strong sales of tight men's trunks since Daniel Craig wore a La Perla pair as James Bond in 2007, and a spokesman for John Lewis said that the recent high temperatures had boosted sales by 21 per cent compared with last year.

David Beckham and Prince William have also been seen wearing Speedo-style trunks - but so have Steve McFadden and James Corden, proving very efficiently that it's not a look for anyone who spends less than three hours exercising a day.

It is perhaps the reason why Alton Towers banned the snug swimwear from its park last year. A spokesman said at the time: 'We feel this small brief style is not appropriate for a family venue.'

But Britain's men are not the only ones planning to leave little to the imagination this summer. Price comparison website Ciao reported that women appear reluctant to be left behind in the skimpy swimwear stakes as online searches for bikinis have increased by 100 per cent.

Thankfully, Britons seem to be making some effort at getting their bodies beach-ready, as self-tanning and hair removal products are also in demand.

A spokesman for the site said: 'Everyone wants to look their best on the beach and clearly Brits have never been prouder to get their kit off.
'People are buffing themselves up so they are tanned and smooth from top to toe and are celebrating by looking for the tightest, tiniest and most revealing swimwear out there.'

The tight brief swimwear is named after Australian brand Speedo, which came up with the design in the Thirties.

The company also designed two-piece bikinis, which were banned throughout the Thirties and Forties by Australian beach inspectors for being too shocking.

Men are fail.

However, I noticed in my Economics class this morning a couple of girls were wearing their workout gear to class.

I approve.

You'd have to packing nicely and be in seriously good shape to look good in one.

I think you'd also have to get waxed which is major no no... not sure how hairy people look in them.

I think - and correct me if I'm wrong - that speedos are the norm in swimwear in many places outside of the U.S.

To each their own . . ..

That's right, though board shorts and the like seem to be making some inroads.

I think I would be able to pull off wearing one, but would never would wear one, also since I have always worn long swim trunks, my tan line around my legs would look ridiculous.

One thing to consider... what if you get a huge erection in one?

Might lead to some uncomfortable situations.

It's ok if it's a huge erection, not interested in the little erections.

You can lean over and try to hide it in shorts.

There is no way you can get away with hiding one in a Speedo.

so you're going to walk around leaning over? Or just plop down when you start getting wood? Either way it would be comical and fairly obvious to anyone paying any sort of attention.

Yep, I had to do that a couple times before lol (pool and beach). You try to go somewhere quick or plop down on the sand and pretend to be making a sand castle until it goes away.

What about partial erections? You'd be showing it either way.

Women are continually finding new and inventive ways to draw attention their boobage, men should be proud of their huge or partial erections. We should stand tall....as it were.

Well, I don't own one, but I'll go through a checklist here:

Above-average penor? Check
Tight bum? Check
Muscular runner's legs? Check
At least 4 abdominal muscles showing/flat stomach? Check
Smooth legs? Hmm...time to break out the Nair and then I should be good to go :awe:

I demand extensive speedo pics immediately to confirm the above

Sounds gross.

Sorry, I'm part of the "unless you are James Bond, you won't pull it off".
