Gotta toughen up your body. Eating healthy softens the body down to wuss mode and you dont live as long...

Does Diet Dr. Pepper count? How about generic Dr. Pepper (Diet Dr. K or Diet Dr. Thunder)?

Actually I think her secret was her positive attitude towards life and that she is active. The lady was a true delight to watch in her interview, I would have guessed she was in her low eighties.

I think the secret is being a person who keeps living past the ages when other people usually die. If you aren't one of those people already, nothing you do in terms of diet or exercise will make you one.

To clarify that: I do think an extremely poor diet could take you out early, but an extremely good diet isn't going to get you much past your built in expiration date.

There certainly is - in attributing a high in processed sugar drink as the reason for living long.

The trouble is, our food science is garbage. Just look at cholesterol - suddenly it's okay to eat now! Yay science! :p

If she drinks 3 Dr. Pepper sodas a day at 64 grams of sugar each, that's nearly 200 grams of refined sugar intake per day. And yet she's able to give an interview at 100+ years old. So it definitely doesn't seem like it's negatively affect her health...

Yeah, that reflects what pretty much every longevity study I've seen has said, like the Blue Zones TED Talk:

Eating really poorly will definitely kill you quicker, but eating well or even in a mediocre fashion doesn't have any scientific correlation that we're currently aware of. And there are always those outliers, like the 95-year-old dudes they trot out who have smoked since they were 12 & don't have lung cancer.

My great grandmother told me her secret was eating a banana every single day. She lived to 104.
