You see, I was driving down the street in the curb lane, just minding my own business. This guy pulls up along side me in his SUV for a about 3 minutes. He then yells out the window "jerk!" at me.

I am like; whoa, What did I do? He then pulls in behind me and makes a right hand turn.

It appears my mistake was not respecting his stance of dominance so he could make a right hand turn from the left hand lane. He had no turn signals on and no indication at all he wanted to change lanes.

He was probably one of those drivers that try at all costs to get in front of you to make a quick right turn.

Exactly why I hang out in the left lane 99% of the time;).

Before you pounce, I drive in the city and the right lane is usually blocked by parked cars every other block, and a bus route. And bicycles...

Everyone is an asshat on the road at some point in time. Some people just do it much more often than others.

I hate it when people in the right lane move slow when I go slow, then go fast when I go fast. It's almost like they don't want me to change lanes. But here in Jersey, we would never call anybody jerks about it....

I'd love to know exactly why people suddenly act like complete dicks when they drive. Does the speed make drivers subconsciously tense? Is it because of the elevated sense of social status that results from, "OMG I'm driving a car, I'm so fucking awesome!"

Like if you bump into someone in a hallway, it's just a quick, "Oh sorry, I didn't see you there," and it's done, and not a response of "Jerk!", unless the person just happens to always be an arrogant prick.

I should make this clear: I was not trying to block this SUV guy. I was going with the flow of traffic and the car in front of me was at a safe braking distance.

PS: there was no one behind me. why didn't he just pull up behind me to make his turn, rather than trying to shove me out of his way? I have seen this many times and it annoys me.

lol some dipshit did something like that to me when I was on a bike once. Except we were both in motion, there was snow on the ground (boston), and he was close enough for me to reach out and hit is car.

Maybe it was just a general statement that had nothing at all to do with your driving?

Yesterday I was in the center lane of a three-lane, one-way street, making a left turn. Guy across from me goes across and enters the street I'm on despite the multiple "DO NOT ENTER" signs. I lean on the horn to get his attention and he looks at me like I'm insane/stupid. Well WTF? He's the one who just broke the law! On top of that, he was driving a modded Civic so he was probably at least semi-retarded.
