This ain't nothing. I work diagonally from GCT on 42nd street. 2 years ago there were snipers on top of the Hyatt. A Barret 50cal and 2 others.

A couple days later my coworker and I got some food in GCT and were walking back. A big convoy of suburbans came screeching down the street, USSS jumping out screaming at people to get back.

Before that there was a steampipe explosion underneath my window. They evacuated the building for a week, I left all of my shit here. A coworker finally got back in, got my shit, and I met him in front of the Morgan building. Walking back to my place near Columbus Circle, I was walking across the street to the Time Warner center when a convoy of suburbans came around the corner. I stood in front of the Mandarin Oriental while USSS swarmed around me. Obama came out, walking about a foot away (in 08).

Then there was the blackout. I was here for an interview at Credit Suisse for a day. After the interview I went to the ESB. In the 2nd bank of elevators (82nd floor or so), the power went out. I had to walk down the whole ESB, then find a place to stay, with no power. All I had was $200, brand new shoes, and a new suit.

NYC is a great place

damn, 44th here ... hi there neighbor, now gtfo the starbucks line ;)

anyways, like the dude said - this stuff is pretty normal. gets way crazier when nypd's hercules teams decides to stage a full scale alert with port authority and mta police ... you'd think something *really* happened. the area b/w GCT and times sq is always on the receiving end :p

and oh yeah, did i mention that quite a few yellow cabs are actually undercover cop cars?
