Apparently I am flying to Tanzania

So we've got a trip coming up and I was doing my standard checks of everything - seats, schedules, aircraft type (because I might want to change seats if the aircraft changes). For my Nairobi to Zurich flight a search of the flight number on Seat Guru showed a flight from Nairobi to Dar es Salaam or a flight Dar es Salaam to Zurich. "This can't be right" So I look enter the flight number in Google - which matches Seat Guru. I look at my ticket. Nothing about a stop in Tanzania just NBO -> ZRH. I look on SWISS' site (who is operating the flight.) Nothing about a stop mentioned. It's only when I dig into a few more screens about this particular flight that they call out a 1 hour stop in Dar es Salaam.

So the timing is all the same and what I expected when booking but I've never seen a stop hidden like this before. If there is a stop with no plane change I've always seen it called out similar to "1 stop. No plane change". I've even had fuel stops called out on the itinerary. "1 hour fuel stop XYZ"

No big deal but I'm just glad I found out now because if they made any announcements about an hour and a half flight to Tanzania we would have been really confused. Not to mention I am assuming Tanzania doesn't look a whole lot like Switzerland

Sounds like an awesome trip, keep wanting to do a safari , trying to talk the old man into going on one. I can't wait to see the pics!

Usually they call that direct versus non-stop, but I haven't seen them not disclose a stop before. I'd be kinda pissed, because I hate flying even though I do it all the time, and one additional stop that is outside of my set plan would be annoying.

Me either so it was a surprise. Double checked my email itinerary and my booking on the website but there is no indication unless I click on the Itinerary and then click on the flight number for that specific leg of the itinerary

were you aware of this before you boarded the plane?

Well this flight isn't for a couple of weeks yet
