Someone lied to the OP. It seems even 6 cores does better than 4.
2 cores suck.

That is awesome news. I wonder if the optimized it for "up to 6" cores, or if it'll even scale up further on 8 core CPUs. Maybe BD has some hope, at least in gaming.

The game graphics are not set in stone yet for alpha, they still have to implement lots of stuff.

They have already said that the videos you see online are on a GTX 460 and that looked very playable.

which videos? Because I'm pretty sure the Devs said that the videos shown during E3 were on a single 580.

All I know is that at 1920x1200 it didn't run smooth.
I have an E8400 at 3.5 and a 6850/6870 crossfire setup.
Averaged around 25fps on LOW settings.
That game isn't optimized obviously, but a new computer is needed for sure.

Personally i don't care if it works well with dual cores or not as i got a 2500k:p

Just wanted confirmation if the claims i heard were true or not but most of us have quads so we need more confirmation on how its gonna perform on high end and mid range cards.

Can't see many attempting to play this game on a 5770 or even a 9800gt.

something is certainly not right there. even without HT, that 2.93 i3 should not be slower than the 3.0 E8400.

It looks to me like the game favors AMD cpu's. The AMD 555 should not be faster than a e8400.
ALso the x4 940 is beating a q9550 by quite a margin.

The Alpha is just a limited Rush (limited player numbers) map, and the game environment varies greatly from point to point, of which the most stressful points hardly ever get seen due to game imbalance/player incompetence

We'll really need to wait until we see Conquest and a plethora of flying vehicles (particularly jets) before we can truly determine what kind of rig one might need (let alone want) for an all-around acceptable performance level

in other words, keep your pants on, we still have very little to go on

So the Core i5 quad is ~5 times as fast as the Core i3 dual? It's gotta be an issue with the alpha.
