Apparently 33 is the Happiest Age

Are you ready to have the time of your life? A recent study suggested that might not happen, until you are well into your 30s. A British social website, Friends Reunited , conducted a survey of people over age 40 and found that 70 percent of respondents indicated they were not truly happy until there was 33 candles on their birthday cake.
What makes 33 so much fun?
According to psychologist Donna Dawson , it's because we carry some life experience, but we're not too jaded.
"The age of thirty-three is enough time to have shaken off childhood naivety and the wild scheming of teen-aged years without losing the energy and enthusiasm of youth," she said. "By this age innocence has been lost, but our sense of reality is mixed with a strong sense of hope, a 'can do' spirit, and a healthy belief in our own talents and abilities."
The number 33 has long had special connotations.
According to biblical scholars , Jesus Christ was crucified at age 33.
In 1836, poet Ralph Waldo Emerson published his significant essay "Nature" at age 33.
In 1928, Amelia Earnhardt became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic at age 33.
Additionally, 33-year-old celebrities like Jennifer Love Hewitt, Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine and Katie Holmes seem to be enjoying a wealth of success right now.
If you've past 33, don't think the good times are over. The blogosphere has a wide range of resources pointing out the best parts of getting older:

I must say 33 was one of the better times of my life. Things were better then for me than they are now, and it was only 2 years ago.

I'm crawling up there in a month, and I SERIOUSLY fucking doubt that.
For me it was 19-21. Loads of partying, sex, job satisfaction, good body, sex, and the general notion I might not live to the end of the week.

Yeah, I'd give anything to go back.

Did I mention the sex?

Women look terrible by 33, so being a 33 year old guy isnt that great.

Most of the chicks in your age group arn't doable.

Makes sense. By age 33, most people have achieved a reasonable degree of financial stability or career experience. Not living on the edge can open the door for one to focus on other things.

At 33, you're realizing all the fun your having but not realizing that it is over.

Not for everyone. I did everything the "right" way. Stayed out of trouble, focused on career, took advantage of opportunities. When 33 rolls around I will be no better off than a kid going into college. Actually worse, cuz I will have less potential than a kid.

I wish I had fucked around more, had some fun, gone crazy, did drugs, sky dived.

Being crucified isn't even close to being a candidate to be on my list of "things that make me happy."

Maybe some people are into that kind of thing though.

My 33rd year was pretty sweet. I got married, the honeymoon in Greece kicked ass, and my two groomsmen bought me a 52-inch TV. That TV made me realize that being 33 means the days of being a young adult is over, which is kind of a bummer, but your friends are probably older, too, and can buy you a badass gift, such as a 52-inch TV.

All my friends started having kids when I was 33. That kind of sucked in that it made me realize I'm getting old.
