Two years ago I put together a computer:
EPOX 8k7a+
Athlon T-bird 1GHz CPU (Glaciator heatsink & cf)
Mushkin 256MB 2100 RAM (x 2)
Radeon 64MB VIVO AGP
IBM 40GB 7200rpm x 4 with striping
Case from A-top with 2nd cooling fan and 350W supply
Running Win 2000
This computer shares a Belkin KVM switch with another PC on my desk.
It's been working fine for over a year and a half.
Yesterday, the video just stopped. I shut down the computer, changed the KVM cables around, restarted and it booted up fine. I left the room, came back and the video was gone.
I tried changing the video card (I had an old ASUS TNT2 AGP card sitting around). Nothing.
The LED on the mobo reads "FF" which means it's trying to boot.
The fans (in case, on mobo, on cpu and on video card), hard drives (including led indicator on front as well as sounds), CD drive, network adapter (PCI 10/100 card) all show proper signs of life.
If I had just set it up, I'd guess I set the AGP voltage wrong or had some cable reversed or not connected, or the card wasn't seated properly.
Right now, I have no idea.
If it IS the mobo AGP chip, then what new mobo/CPU combo would support existing RAID, 2100 DIMMs, and my other peripherals?
Anybody else have an EPOX 8k7a+ video fail?
Any help would appreciated.
