Apparantly Masonry is devil-worshipping.

OK, now that was a little fanatical...

I'm not going to say who or what the Shriners worship, but I do know that they have done a lot of good. As a child, I received kindness at their hand when they paid to have a problem with my legs examined, and would have paid for the surgery if we had wanted it. (It would not have improved the functionality of my legs, only the appearance, and it would have meant all summer in a large cast.)

This isn't the first and only time I've heard of masons being put into this perception. Not really saying I buy into it, because I know little to nothing about them, but again this isn't the first time i've heard it.

Yea most religions view the Mason's firm belief in freedom of thought to be a threat. The organization was secret for hundereds of years because advocating freedom of thought was punishible by death in most countries. There is a reason most of our founding fathers were masons.

Catholics are not satanists! We are far too busy maintaining our Acid Rain machines and green-lighting Pauly Shore films to be involved in that!

Here's a ?...

If you truly believe in yourself that you are worshipping Jesus and God in whatever you do (Mason's, Shriners, or any other such organization) does it matter if the tools you use are "supposedly" something satanic?

I think that if I truly believe in Jesus, if I am misled with a few symbols and such, the right intent is still there....
as long as I don't know what is being pulled over my eyes and continue to do it.

For the record, I don't believe a word this guy says :)

Here's a link regarding Freemasonry. They're cool, just very much misunderstood (their secrecy causes this). At one time (100s of years ago) they were a society whose members studied metaphysics and such... now it's more of a men's club. Very few Mason's know their history very well, and even fewer understand it.

So, cxim, what constitutes a "devil worshiper"? What kind of "devil worshiper" would they be? You do know, of course, that there many different denominations of Satanic worship.

It's hilarious when I run into a teenage "Satanist" and ask him about his beliefs. He can't tell me which group he belongs to, who his priest or mentor is, or even the name of his coven or church. Pitiful...

Anyway, back on subject...

No, Masons aren't "devil-worshipers". That's just stupid.

Really guys, if you want to know about Freemasonry ask any Mason you know. They'll tell you what they can, and if you're of the right age, ask how you might become a member. Listen to what they say, then think it over and see if their views match with your's. It's all very simple.

And no, I'm not a Mason... although I am still thinking it over.

I saw an interesting documentary on the Masons, some of their rituals are a bit strange, and they're rather secretive. Nothing indicated satanism though.
