So I'm here at work, mind turning to sludge from data entry, when I look up at the calendar and notice that yesterday, July 25th, is noted as "Parent's Day". This is the first I've heard of such a holiday. Now I know other countries have their own holidays but this is a local calendar from a state bank, so I doubt that's it. (especially since it doesn't mention another country) So what's the deal? Did some dumbass decide they should do to Mother's Day and Father's Day what they did to Jefferson's and Washington's Birthdays? 'cause if so I'm about ready to be pissed.

Yes, it's a holiday for parents that can't be pigeonholed into the 'mother' or 'father' category. ;)

You know the type of people I'm talking about.
:p

Edit: Removed pervasive typos.

Post-op Transsexuals and Hermaphrodites?

Man, that's gotta be a weird holiday. "Here Dad, I got you a pair of stockings and panties with a bulge-hiding pouch."

Yes, that was the gist of it.

But I'd like to add that Aliens and Asexual creatures (like sapient amoebas) should have their parenthood celebrated on this day.

Also bigfoot, the loch ness monster, and blob since we dont know their gender

Oh, robot parents should celebrate on this day too.

See, it has a purpose!

Don't be a robophobe!

"I love you, cold, unfeeling robotic arm!"

You get a cookie if you can remember where that's from. (Through the probable mis-quoting, no less)

My external brain (a.k.a. Google) tells me it's Invader Zim. I never watched that show more than a few times, so I may have heard it, but more than likely heard it quoted (it sounded farmiliar).
