I want to sync certain folders for school and other stuff with my desktop and laptop. I do have a home network set up or I could alo use a USB stick. It needs to be really reliable in detecting which file I changed last because I don't want to lose any notes I take during school. Any good apps out there that would do the job?

(This is my 100th post yay! :) )

Isn't that just a backup utility? does it check two different folders and sync them if the files are not the same?

I have used SyncBack as well. It works well for backing up/syncing folders. It can work over FTP too. You might have to map a network drive to use it without FTP, I'm not really sure.

I use SyncBack to backup to a UNC named path, no drive letters involved. You can provide name and password if you like.. or I think it will use the saved Windows credentials if available.

Yes it is a backup utility but you can also choose to sync the files.
