I heard there are apps to load on the ipod and ipad, etc that will help locate it when it is lost.
Can someone point me in the right direction to finding them? I must hae netered the wrong search terms cause I can't find one.
Both grand kids have ipods, one is on her second one in less then 8 months.
I did read a while ago about a app that if the ipod is lost you canuse the app to find it and it gives the location of the ipod.
Also, are there apps that will remotely shut down the ipod if stolen, etc?
Thanks
Edit,, I think the kids ipods are the 4th generation ipod touch.

It should be an official app from Apple called "find my iphone". This won't work for ipods AFAIK because they need internet and GPS connection which I don't think the ipods can deliver.

edit: looks like it'll work with 4th gen ipod touches if they're fully updated

Also, this app gives the ability to lock or remote whipe the device if supported. You have to have the app installed and setup on the device you lost, then you have to use a different iOS device to find it. So you can't use just any computer to find it, you need another iphone, ipad, or ipod to find it.

The trick with the iPod Touches and 'Find my iPhone' is that the Touch needs to be on wifi to be found.

Also, FMi will not tell you where in the house the Touch is, only that it is in (or near) the house.
