Looking for a app that will convert my mp3's to a lower bitrate so I can fit more on a 128mb MP3 player. Would like one that will convert alot at one time and not just 1. Free would be nice.

Lame MP3 encoder is the best. Free. I use Razorlame as the front end for it, simple and quick. Also free.

Need suggestions on how to make the file smaller while keeping decent quality. I am only getting a 128mb player and @ 3-5mb a song I can't get much on there.

Get lame and encode it down from 128 to 112 or 94...it will still sound decent.

would the drop be worth it? Or should I consider something that offers expandable memory? I was considering one of the iRiver imp-180T or imp-380T. They only have 128mb and that it. No more can be added. But they look nice.

Can anyone recommend a different player?

You can't really notice 128 down to 112, especially on portable headphones. I would definetly recommend more than 128mb of ram though, why would you not get a player that is not expandable (unless it already has 256mb)? You can pick up a creative muvo 256mb for the same price. I had a 128mb player and it didnt quite hold enough music at 112 for my tastes, moving up to 192mb hed just the right amount.

is there a simple one that will list the bittrate of all my MP3's and let me choose the ones I want lowered? My music is mixed. Some are 128 some are 320.

I second the dbpoweramp suggestion. Simple and fast. The context menu integration is handy.
