App-notify when texts comes in

Background: self employed, one customer sends out offers of new jobs via txt. It is extremely important I respond nearly immediately or I will lose out on that job. Spend a lot of time in the car with music playing off the phone via bluetooth. Android 6.0.1 phone.

Problem: when a txt comes in while music is on, the music fades out for a bit then comes back on, no beeps or rings. Does the same thing for emails (which I can usually safely ignore for a while). I have it set in my phone to ring a particular tone when a txt comes in but for some reason this doesn't happen while I'm playing music (call ringtones come through fine).

I'm only concerned about one number, all other txts can (and should be ideally) ignored.

Is there any sort of android app that will give priority to txts from one number only and interrupt everything else with a clear beep/signal? If so, what?

Any alternate suggestions would be appreciated.
 
When your volume cuts out on the bluetooth audio like that, it's likely because your phone is alerting you to something.

The audio tone or noise of the alert comes through your phone's speaker, usually.

If the volume of your notification is too lowly set on your phone, you likely won't hear any notification sound, and instead you'll just hear the music cut out for some half a second or so.

My S7 does the same thing when jamming music through bluetooth. If I have my notification volume set at a decent volume, the music cuts out and I can hear a notification sound through my phone's speaker, and if I have the notification volume basically off, I'll just hear the music pause for half a second and then kick back on.

I've learned to glance (when safe to do so) at my phone when the music pauses like that.
 
You could assign one of the longer, more annoying notification sounds to that contact. That would make it more obvious when it comes in.
