does anybody know of a free program that will allow you to set shortcuts or favorites in the 'browse for folder' dialog.. that way I don't have to go through 'my computer, c:, whatever folder, whatever folder2' etc.. and can get there with one click?

I've searched on google and tried a few out but none of them seemed to work, and the rest of them cost money.

ExplorerXP is a tabbed browser. After you browse to a folder you like, make a new tab, browse to the next folder you like, make a new tab... etc. When you exit ExplorerXP it saves all those tabs. Each time you open it, the tabs you left on last time reappear.

One other suggestion: at work I made a folder on my desktop just for shortcuts that I use a lot. Let's call that folder Projects. I ended up putting a lot of shortcuts to folders, spreadsheets and AutoCAD drawings in there. Then I dragged the Projects folder from my desktop to my Start Button. So now when I click Start, I have access to the Projects folder. When I mouse over the Projects folder, it expands to show all the shortcuts to my most frequently used folders, spreadsheets, and AutoCAD drawings.

The beauty of it is that it is *still* a folder on my desktop and when I modify the contents of the Projects folder on my desktop, it is reflected in the Start menu expandable folder link too.

How exactly did you do that?

I tried creating a folder on the Desktop called "Shortcuts" and then I created shortcuts to other folders within this directory. Now, for example, when I go into Word and go to Desktop --> Shortcuts, I don't see any of the folder shortcuts I created.
