Apologies if this is a silly question, but can a USB 1 device work in a USB 2 port?

Hello,

I'm thinking up upgrading my motherboard and I use quite a lot of USB devices, most of them over a year old. The board I'm looking at has 6 USB 2.0 ports - will my older USB devices still work/fit in these ports?

USB 2.0 ports are all compatible back to USB 1.1, you can plug USB 1.1 hubs into USB 2.0 ports too. Cable specifications for both formats are the same.
