for that price, i really recommend a refurbished ti-4200. that card is god-awful. also, there is no performance difference between AGP 4x and 8x.

My PC:
AMD Athlon 2600+
512MB Kingston DDR PC-2700
4x AGP slot

That card is a rebadged geForce4 MX440.

Please buy absolutely nothing less than a Radeon 9600 Pro if you plan on playing Doom III.

both of those cards feature 64-bit memory bus, they are probably worse than the MX4000 in the OP

A used gforce 3 ti500 or gf 4 (not 4mx!) from the FS/FT forum might let you jump from 640x480 up to 800x600.

those are the bottom of the barrel. my ti200 won't play it without seeing a slide show, so there is no way those cards can play it.

Alright my friend was talking to me and well he told me that he has an extra Sapphire Radeon 9600Pro 128MB Video card. The only problem is lines and boxes that are showing up. He said he would offer it to me for free since he has no idea what's going on. Would this video card work with doom III? (I am the master of finding out how to fix stuff!)
