Finishing up my HTPC/light (maybe not at all) gaming machine, and ran across this. Looks stellar for the price, but I have no idea about Apollo products. Can anyone shed some light?

BTW, I want a card that has native HDMI out to go to the AVR receiver. It's this, or shelling out ~$25 more for a 4830 that I probably won't take advantage of, or $30/$40 less for a 3450 or 4350.

Recommendations, please?

I was thinking about this too. GDDR4? Its crazy! In all honesty though it will be no better then the 3870. I think it'll be worth you time to get the 4830. It's the upgrade i did and its like night and day.

I think I might actually forgo any gaming on the HTPC for the time being and just scoop up the 4350 that's $30 AMIR...

I once had an Apollo Nvidia 6600gt. The first card was doa out of the box. The replacement card would cause my PC to randomly lock up. Took the card out and replaced it with a temporary ATI card. All my problems went away. After the second e-mail Apollo stopped responding to me. I could not call them or get an RMA. Finally the vendor was kind enough to exchange the card with an PNY 6600gt. I had no problems with the PNY card locking my system and I was happy. Apollo Emailed me two months later, I wish i could have sent them a chuck norris round house kick in the reply.

I think my HD3850 is an Apollo. I haven't had major problems with it other than it getting kind of hot. I'll probably stick to reputable brands in the future, though, as long as the price difference isn't too big.
