Just watched it for the first time, and it was one of the most gruelling 3 hours of my life. I feel mentally violated. Indeed a classic, but SO fvcked up! :Q

a trippy flick that's for sure. did you see the full director's cut or the watered down version?

Full directors cut, bought it on DVD today. Now after watching it I feel a bit weird, it's hard to describe. 😕

My favorite movie ever. I was lucky to get to see it in the theater during the Redux release in 2001. Definitely the way to see it.

Do you mean the Redux? The one that has 53 minutes of footage that obviously had no purpose?

It was cool to see the extra stuff that they shot, but the original is much better than the redux.

I knew it had a funny name. Yes thats the version that I was speaking about. "watered down" does imply that it was less intense. I retract the statement.

It came on TV recently, my son got a kick out of seeing "Morpheus" at age 14.

I felt the same way after watching Full Metal Jacket.

I can still hear Gunnery Sgt Hartmen shouting "I'm gonna call you Gomer Pyle"

Morpheus when he was a skinny pothead🙂.

Top it off with "Donnie Darko" and "Requiem for a Dream" to complete your suicidalness.

i brought the directors cut DVD with me on my trip, if i wasn't still working i would watch it, maybe tomorrow night

APOLOCLYPSE NOW KICKS @$$, great movie, in my top 5, along with pulp ficition, and kill bill may yet make it to my top 10

Are you really going to tell me that the Playboy bunny scene in the helicopter was extraneous? 😀

Read Heart of Darkness, same thing but a book, and a bit better IMO
It was a hard book to read though. At least for me it was. I enjoyed the story I just had to work to read it.
