My question is this worth it to buy a keyboard since it came with no keyboard?

is the mem same as Win, if so seems to be to low on mem

Those were state of the art machines in their day, so you'll have to decide if you want to throw cash at it. I'd get a good used keyboard first so you can find out what sort of shape it's in, then decide if you want to upgrade the memory. Try Amazon for inexpensive used Apple G5 109-Key USB Keyboards.

The memory specs call for DDR2 PC2-4200 (533MHz) SDRAM: iMac G5 (iSight): Memory specifications; and it can be upgraded by adding a single 2GB stick of DDR2 PC2-4200 for a total of 2.5GB (512MB+2GB). DDR2 PC2-4200 SDRAM is a standard memory module used in both Windows and Macs from that era.

I had an Hp keyboard around and it works great,but at this moment i'm kinda stuck, cause i only can log in as a guest ,i'm trying to get the admnistrator name and password from the person that gave me the Aple pc,i can't install anything cause it asks me the password,but i tried to download the Flash Player for Espn3 and it says the system doesn't support it anymore,also i put in any kind of DVD or CD and it just spits it out,so i don't know if it's a drivers problem or hardware fault!
i have linux ops system on a USB stick but it seems one can't boot it up like you do in win or Linux Ops, can't get in bios set up to change the drive to boot
with the stick,in top of that if memo can't be upgraded at least to 1gb it's not worth it,as i said the memo is diferent from win ops?
at the moment i only can use it for internet,facebook,Utube and so on it runs smoothly for this.Anybody with the Knowledge of this system or owns one i would apreciate any thoughts and help.
Also will this Mem Ram fit on this aple pc?Thanks in advance.

Something goofy with that link.

The iMac G5 uses a PowerPC CPU, not an intel. It's very not current, and software upgrades are limited.

If you have the CDs that came with the machine, you can reset the admin password.

For PPC software and tips (I think you can tweak in a newer version of Flash than is officially supported, for instance) go to www.lowendmac.com.

Apparently it uses full size DIMMs, unlike later iMacs which used SO-DIMMs. So that's nice.
 
I would recommend 2.5 GB RAM for that machine, or 1.5 GB minimum, and then install Mac OS X 10.5.8 on it.

When you get the RAM, get RAM that is properly spec'd. Cuz underspec'd RAM will prevent it from booting, and overspec'd RAM might cause the same problem with certain brands. Macs are very strict about RAM. However, Crucial's website memory configuration tool says their PC-5300 will work in that machine, which presumably means that the SPD settings include listed timings for functioning at PC-4200 speeds. They sell a 2 GB stick for US$36.

Note that Flash will be old and slow on that machine, so it might make sense to disable Flash. (There are newer hacked Flash versions, but it's probably easier just to disable it completely.) Check it out yourself though and decide if it works for you.
