Decided it might be handy to have weekly app thread to introduce people to some new apps that I come across in my daily web travels.... I am constantly looking for new and cheap apps (the cheaper the better) for various functions, so I thought I might share my favorites as I find them...

Please let me know if you think this will be a handy thing to continue...

I will try to post each monday (i know, i'm a bit late this week to start, but in my defense, I just thought of the idea last night)

And without further delay, i now present the inaugural...

Aphex's App of the Week - Week of 4/14/08

[__Dock Library__]

License: Freeware

Info: Dock Library is an application that takes the headache out of managing styles for your Leopard dock. Download styles from sites such as LeopardDocks.com or LeopardDocks.net. Once downloaded, there's no need to expand or unpack the file, just click "Import" to add it to Dock Library. When you have some styles in your library, you're a simple click away from changing the look of your dock. No hunting through hidden system directories, just select the dock you want and click "Activate".[/i] - Text taken and modified from Dative Studios

My Take: I found this app to very useful, much more so than the previous tedious task of editing the contents of the dock.app. Another more well known app, CandyBar accomplishes the same task and adds some additional functionality such as excellent Icon editing, but also sets you back $29. So far the app has been very stable for me, and launches the new dock within seconds. With the multitude of different free docks available from the sites listed above and the stability and easy of use of the program, I am very satisfied with this app.

Nice post.

I found this app really useful, since I couldn't figure out how to change my dock in Candybar. (Though I was impatient and didn't put a lot of time into it.)

This is simply drag and drop, I like it!
