A good play everything DVD player. I picked one up at Sunnyvale Fry's today. The serial number starts with 'D' and has a yellow sticker. It will not play VCD's until you update the firmware. The firmware will also make it macrovision and region free. The firmware can be obtained here.

That's a good price on a good player. I paid $100 for mine at Kmart a while back.

I went to Fry's (Fremont) today and the APEX AD-1500 is still at $119.99 :Q

How did you get it for $53.99?

Thanks.

I guess the deal doesn't apply to all stores. When I went to the Fremont Fry's about two weeks ago they had the same DVD player for $53. I neglected to pick it up, the dope that I was, because I didn't know if it was able to play burned VCDs. By the time I had done my research and went back a few days later, it was back up to $119.

I guess it was $53.99 only for Thursday. When I went back today it was at $119 again. I thought $53.99 was the regular price for Fry's becuase the shelf tag didn't say the price was good through a particular date. I thought Fry's sale items always said good through a particular date on the shelf tag. Sorry

Does frys offer optional extended warranties? Apex seems like it might need it.
