cashman - na, looked last night... nothing worth mentioning at the Palm Bay and Melbourne Wal-Marts... the clearance stuff at these two stores needs to be moved over to Dollar Tree.

Stopped by the Des Moines Wal Mart around 5pm, and got the run-around from several employees. One finally confirmed the price and said "Yes, they are in stock, but they are on the top shelf and the manager won't let us get them down until the truck gets here".

Uh... WHAT????

I politely asked her when the truck was to arrive, and she just shrugged and wouldn't answer. I asked her if I could speak to the manager, and she just said "he's busy". I would have gone to customer service, but the line was a mile long and nothing but tube-top wearing State Fair people sharing a grand total of seven teeth...

My wife got pissed and went back into the store and tried to get someone to help her, but they kept brushing her off. Finally one employee said he would call the manager and proceeded to PRETEND to dial the phone, and then looked at my wife and said "Nobody is answering". She pointed out that he would actually need to touch the keys on the phone to dial it the next time and he simply said "I'll try again in ten or fifteen minutes if you want to wait". He then walked off.

She swore she would never step foot in another Wal Mart again.

AAAARRRRRGGHHHH!!!! Anyone have the email to the regional Wal Mart manager?

I guess the employees are taking home some cheap TVs tonight...

Hmm. Perhaps you should've visited the HW dept. first, to do some real-world testing on their ladders? ;)

I think you need to call the corporate office, and then get them to call the general manger and have them personally reserve one for you at that price or substitute a better model at the same price.

Explain to them that you went into the STORE - a business establishment where usually diversified goods are kept for retail SALE (was already at Merriam Webster's site ;))
and then they REFUSED to sell you merchandise. If you call the corporate office and are firm, but determined heads will roll for the gross incompetence that forced you to not spend money at that location. Make sure to go through corporate as they tend to make the managers act EXTREMELY nice when you do drop by again ;)

I have an explaination about not being able to get the tv's down. They were probably in the back room where we receive our trucks. We have set up pallets for receiving everything and after this is done there isn't much room in the back of the store. I would take a ton of time to move everything just to get a tv down. Other than that, they employee you talked to sounded like an idiot. Something you can do to get people moving would to threaten to call 1-800-WALMART. It's the last thing management working at the store would want you to do.

Sir dante, it has one s-video input in the back, 2 composite-in in the back, 1 composite-in in the front, and 1 composite-out in the back :)
for me it's nice tv for $85+tax :)
