Aperture question

im trying out keeping my pictures on my hackintosh but work on them on my macbook (In sets)

is there a way in aperture to open pictures in a folder with out importing them?


like in lightroom you can set it so in the library is all the pictures in a specific folder, so i can move around these "sets"

On my hackintosh i have every thing separated into folders by photo shoot, i dont need all the pictures on my macbook all at once so I wanted to move pictures in my folder and be able to move them back

is there a better way to do this?
