Aperature Grill's all have gray wires?

The short answer is "yes, they do". I have a 19" w/a Sony tube. It has the little wires. Honestly, unless you have your face about 12 inches from the screen (you shouldn't be that close anyway!) the wires are barely noticeably unless you have a white background screen . During regular surfing/gaming/emailing you wont' notice them after about a week of adjusting to a new monitor. Any flatscreen will have these wires. Small price to pay, IMO. It's personal preference though. I've seen many conventional CRT's that have picture quality that rival flatscreens; however, they usually cost more than a flatscreen.

I prefer an "optically correct" picture from corner to corner. I have a Dell E770 17" regular screen that really looks quite nice, but not as nice as my 19" Micron monitor w/the Sony tube. Your mileage may differ.

unless you happen to look in just the right spot on a light coloured background, you won't see them. i usually have to take a second to try to find them on my Samsung 900NF(similar to the Trintitron tube, but cheaper)

Yeah, I recently when to CompUSA and checked it out and they had a dark wallpaper & earlier DVD that I really couldn't see them until I got fairly close. However when I asked them to make the background white then they really stood out. I guess if you stare at it day in and day out then you mentally forget about them. I was just wondering because I was looking them over. Thanks

Ya, I rarely notice my wires, they are just very very faint lines. Hope they dun bother you too much, trinitron is nice technology 😉

Yes they all do, some of them are much less noticeable then others however.
Personally I prefer Shadow Mask CRT monitors like Hitachi makes but that's a personal preference.

Those two lines on my illama drove me nuts for the first week; then I got used to it. I really thought it was defective even though I knew what they were.

Bah, you'll get desensitize to them if you use it long enough.. hell, i have gunk on my monitor all the time, from ketchup to snot, and it doesn't bother me.
