APC UPS any good?

Office Depot has a 900va model BX900R on sale for $89 AR. Seems a whole lot of overkill for my system which is drawing around 190 watts according to killawatt, but IIRC, APC is a quality unit.

I have numerous short time power outages in my area, and the auto shutdown software sounds like a definite plus if I,m not around when the power goes down

There is a reason why they are pretty much the number one used in computer server rooms.... they actually stand by their products.

Thanks guys, went ahead and bought it. Will install it Monday, nice thing is if it is FUBAR, I just return it to the B&M without the cost of huge RMA shipping costs.... this thing is a relative monster in weight.

IIRC when my friend got a dud (wouldn't switch the outlets over to battery, just the rest of the unit lol) I think APC paid for shipping both ways.

I have an APC unit. I don't have many power outages but it is nice having it when they do come around. I have it more for those brief power spikes/drops than anything. Bought it brand new for $28 shipped too - ebay 😀
