Edit: I own a couple of the 1350VA models in this lineup. Have had them for a couple of years now, I think, they work great. However, the particular model in this deal is kind of light-weight, it only supports PCs that take 600W at the wall or less. Don't forget your monitor wattage too, if it's going to be plugged in! So, realistically, this is only good for PCs with a 500W or maybe 550W PSU at MOST. Otherwise, best to bump up to the 1350VA model, like I did, or the 1500VA model, which is I believe 810W capability.

Well, this model lineup is their "consumer" pure sine wave lineup, which is fairly new, it hasn't existed for 20 years.

You're probably talking about a "Back UPS Pro" lineup, which was their "Pro" lineup, and a bit more overbuilt, and significantly more expensive. But very, very nice. A relative used to use those. Very "Pro" oriented unit, VERY reliable.

I've been using these newer consumer "pure sine" APC units, for nearly two years now, and I've been happy with them as well.

Yep, I've got a few of those too. That and some cyberpower ones that almost look like twins of the apc units.

I've got some of the Back UPS Pro, but also the Back UPS Net or something like that--these were the pure sinewave models back then and the batteries last around 5 years each. You can actually connect a car battery to these, but the charging circuitry will get very hot (fire potential), but the runtime is ridiculous with a car battery. Not my thing since I want mine to last, but it was interesting to see what people had pushed these units to do.

Last I checked I think those are on battery #3 or #4 so they've been on for 15-20 years now. :D
