APC BR1000MS 1000 VA Pure SineWave 10 Outlets 2 USB Charging Ports Back-UPS Pro Battery Backup

+ $25 off w/ promo code 6BGSALE235, limited offer

Got an older UPS? Maybe time to "step up" to a "Pure SineWave" UPS, to work properly with modern PFC PSUs in PCs? Don't have a UPS, and decided to get one? This is the unit for you!

I own two of the 1350VA "Pure SineWave" APC consumer units like this one, they work great! Have had them for over a year now, I think.

Edit: Important, make sure to get a UPS with enough "Watts" to handle your PC. "VA" doesn't really mean much, in this context, even though it may technically be correct. This UPS is ONLY 600W capability, so if you have a larger than 650W PSU, or even lower, but draw 600W or over (or even close to it) at the wall, you need a BIGGER UPS. Hence the reason that I went with the 1350VA model. That, and the 1500VA model was a bit pricey.

Edit: Don't forget your peripherals when sizing your UPS, including your monitor. My 40" 4K UHD TV takes up to 100W or so, alone, and I've got a few USB hubs and USB peripherals that probably take 15-20W too.

So if my dual-GPU 6C/12T modern PC takes 400-450W at the wall, PLUS, 100W for monitor, PLUS extra overhead for peripherals, then yeah, I'm glad that I went with the 1350VA / 810W (?) model.

Also, just because your PC has a "750W" PSU, doesn't mean that it takes 750W all the time, but be aware that due to efficiency issues, there is an increase of effective wattage AT THE WALL. Best to measure actual power consumption with something like a Kill-A-Watt meter if unsure, or just buy the next size bigger UPS. (Note that most if not all UPS units with an LCD display, can tell you not only stats about your AC line input, but also your load you're putting on it.)

Additional savings w/ promo code 6BGSALE235, limited offer

Shows as $149.99 in-cart, after applying $25 promo code. So if you didn't use the promo code already on the 1000VA model, it now applies to the 1350VA model, which I would strongly recommend instead for most modern gaming rigs. (I use the 1350VA models myself.)

These are great units. They're basically the same as other brands entry level sine wave units, but APC has a lot of engineering experience with sine-wave units so you can't go wrong with these, especially with a 3 year warranty.

When the battery fully dies after a few years, going with a genuine APC battery in my APC units has put them right back into service with the same reliability. Some of mine are on their 3rd and 4th batteries so have been in operation for 20 years or so.

Nice to see APC finally offering a pure sine wave UPS at a reasonable price.

Too late for me, though. CyberPower got my money years ago.

Same here. Three cp1500pfclcd, an OR2200, and a few 1350 units around. I use some for low wattage things just in case.

The 1350s were stupid cheap ($120-ish) a few years ago, so I ended up with couple of those. I've also got a 1500 and a 1000, which was the first one I ever bought about a decade ago.

All still going strong.

I've always just gotten whatever 'super deal' I find on genuine units--I have a mix of apc and cyberpower. Cyberpowers are a bit chinsey compared to the APC units of the same caliber, but they do work.
