APC BackUPS Pro 1100VA UPS vs. APC 1000VA BX1000

BackUPS Pro 1100 hot deal thread

Staples website w/the BX1000

The BackUPS pro is $118.00 at Sams Club and I can get the BX1000 at staples for $134.99 using a coupon. Anyone know if staples would pricematch Best Buy's price of $149.99 (staples is $164.99) without the APC being advertised (not sure of the policy). That would make it cheaper (110% I believe) and then I would add something to get the $150.00 price and use the $30 coupon.

Basically which deal is a better value for the money. I will be using it in a dorm room.

Thanks🙂🙂🙂

The BackUPS Pro 1100 has decent uptime, but the monitoring capabilities are severely limited compared to the other BackUPS Pro UPSes. Therefore, it's not the best to use if you want to do fancy stuff with the power management software. I have no info or experience with the other model you list, though. 😕

I just want to have power if I need it and for the system to shut down nicely if the power level is almost gone.

I used to own a APC BP1000, but upgraded to a APC Smart-UPS 1500 via trade-up from APC. With everything connected PC, Monitor, Cable, Switch, 5.1 Speaker system and etc, I could get 40 mins before shutdown with the BP1000. Win2000+ will auto shutdown the system at a user configured level either using the built-in UPS service or using their PowerChute software which is better.
