APC Back-UPS Pro 1100 for $149 @ microcenter.
Just saw this in the flyer.

This is a good deal. The APC 1000 model at CDW is ~$370.

There's also some sort of deal on this at compusa that involves mirs. Maybe if you priced matched this at compusa, you could get some sort of super deal. (I can't vouch for that though.)

Edit: It seems like at least one person was able to get the compusa price match so this may be a hotter deal!

I posted about the Compusa deal the other day thinking that $200 was a good price for it (My brother bought one), then some mentioned the microcenter deal, so I printed out the flyer for him and he went back to Compusa, they PM'd him and refunded $100, to he got it for $100 plus a $50 MIR.

I have to say though that it depends on the Manager, the first Compusa he went to would only drop his price $25, so we tried another one... that time the Manager bit the whole way.

Sweet deal...I have my setup hooked up to the Conext 500 and 300 Staples deals which have been around lately.

Wonder if they'll actually work.

I got this deal 5 months ago when both stores ran the same deal.
CompUsa won't pricematch an online store but if you have a Microcenter in your area they will pricematch it.
I got the rebate in a reasonable amount of time: sent in 2/4/02 received 4/10/02.
Net cost with tax and stamp = $107.83
Like I said in the other thead, I felt like John Dillenger walking out the door.
I think that ComUSA pays over $200 for these units.

How does the price drop to $100 then a $50 rebate? Lowest it looks to me, is from microcenter for $150 - the MIR... I mean, even if CompUSA matches the $150 price..they(atleast the ones here) wont give you the additional $50 instant savings. Can anyone explain how to do it? Thanks

Just a little note... I don't think these units are like the other Back-UPS Pro's. I heard they are missing some of the features of the real Back-UPS Pro's.

Great deal! I got one last time they were on special and regretted only getting one! These are full retail APC's; they have everything! Great deal, grabbed another for my servers. Thank you!

Not true, these 1100VA models are exactly like the 1000VA models, same wattage, same everything. I asked APC a few months ago and they said the BP1100 model was designated with the number 1100 because you can only find them in retail stores. The BP1000 model you can pretty much buy anywhere, not just BM stores. Notice how BP1000 shows up on pricewatch, but not BP1100.

Pro 1100 = Pro 1000. This is actually a very good deal getting one for only $168.85 shipped. It's even better for those lucky to be in a city with a Microcenter BM store. Remember, these units usually cost almost $400 normal price. Huge suckers too... almost broke my back lifting it :) :(

on the internet, Comp has a $50 MIR and $50 Instant. How did you get $50 refunded? Did they take the $50 off for the instant, then another $50 MIR for a total of $50?

Only have one CompUSA here (and a Microcenter), and they would match the price, but nixed BOTH rebates. Argued with them about the mail-in rebate, and the guy wouldn't budge. Refused because "below their price". Whippity doo dah. That's why I NEVER shop at CompUSA.

They can't avoid both, you can still send in the $50 MIR. As long as you got the receipt, rebate form, and the UPC, that's all the rebate center cares about. They don't care at what price you paid in the store. After all, the rebate goes to New Rochelle, NY... it's outsourced and not controlled by CU whatsoever. So go get it.

Picked up one here at the Clearlake, Tx Compusa.. I had to go over to the in-store computer and locate Microcenter's web page and the go to "Specials" on page 4 to show manager that it wasn't just for on-line purchases. He then called Mocrocenter to check availabilty. Then gave me the $ 149.00 price.

I don't think the rebate is still valid though...crap.
