APC 500va UPS mania - YMMV (PM last weeks CC deal to OD or get another one cheap)

Some price matching (and luck with OD) gave me a smokin' hot deal - 2 of the APC 500va UPSs for $10.57 (after tax & MIR)!

Circuit City (last week's deal)

69.99 - UPS
-60.00 - MIR
-25.00 - Price Match with OD
--------
-15.01

OD (this week's ad)

44.99 - UPS ($10 price drop & 15 instant rebate - B&M only)
-15.00 - MIR
-15.00 - 15 off 50 coupon (buy some paperclips or something to get over the $50 mark)
--------
14.99

The reason YMMV is the $15 coupon from OD is supposed to be for online only, but my local store (on Speedway in Tucson) never gives me a hard time. I just printed out the page from OD's web site that said, "Your code is approved - you will get $15 off a purchase of $50 or more" and I told the guy at the register that I was emailed the coupon, they gave me a code I had to type in and then I got this. And, oh, sorry, I forgot to write down the code.

They like hearing that part about the code... (you can find it online)

If nothing else, you can PM the CC deal from last week with OD's deal this week and make $15 (for those of you without Amex Blue or a Fry's locally)

I did have to spend $5.99 to use the 15 off 50 coupon, so my actual costs are $10.57 (that includes tax) for 2 UPSs (and some batteries I needed anyway) - not bad at all!

For anyone in Tucson, the OD on Speedway had at least 3 of the APC UPSs in stock as of an hour ago.

Caution: Some guy over at f*twallet said that price matching OD with last weeks CC purchase will screw up the rebates. Basically, when you go to CC to get the price match, they enter in their computer that your returned the product. This will screw up the $45 rebate from CC on the UPS.

P.S. Mods, please remove the ban on the word f*twallet. Just because they are your competitor, they should be given credit when it is due.

If you got this deal last week from CC and want to get this from OD, you will need a new address for the $15 MIR from OD. This $15 MIR is the same rebate that CC had. It is a rebate direct from APC which specifies only one per person/address/household.

I don't know if there will be a problem with the second rebate from APC or not, but I don't think so.

The OD rebate is valid 3-24 through 6-30 and states you must purchase the UPS from Office Depot or Officedepot.com.

The CC rebate was valid only 3-17 through 3-23 and must have a copy of a Circuit City receipt.

Granted the address you send the rebate forms into is virtually identical (the PO Box is 1 number different), but the purchase dates and place of purchase have to be different for these two rebates. To me, that clearly makes this two different rebates - who knows what the rebate company will say though.

I do have until the end of July to send the OD rebate in, so I may wait until I get the $15 from the CC rebate so I don't risk messing both rebates up.

As for it messing up the $45 rebate from CC, I don't think that will happen, if it does, they will have one mad customer in there yelling until he gets $45 refunded on his credit card. :|

Its not pretty, but it works and I will be justified because I will have done nothing wrong - it will be their fault.

I would think that the "1" difference in P.O. box number would qualify it to be a different offer. Also, the CC offer ended on 3/23. The OD offer starts on 3/24. That is proof that these offers are different.
