There as pleasant as pie and will bend over backwards for you...until you sign the purchase agreement/lease. :disgust:

LAST WEEK
Me: I really want to rent this apt, it's nice; but I need a few things done to it first.
Them: Like what?
Me: Well, the carpet is shot, so are the blinds and it needs to be painted.
Them: No problem! It'll take a week or so to do...can I get you some coffee and doughnuts?

THIS WEEK
Me (on phone): Hi, it's Mike, I'm moving into apt XXX today...just calling to see if it's ready?
Them: Hold on. *click* (hold music plays)
Them: Yeah.
Me: Um, yeah WHAT?
Them: It's ready. We are here until Two O'clock...are you coming?
Me: Yes, I am...I'll see you in a little while
Them: Bye. *click, dial toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooone.*
Me: WTF?

I swear, they are all SOOOO nice until you sign. Then they revert to their true form. They are like the Sirens of Sea from myth. They sing a sweet, sweet song to lure sailors closer to them. When the boat is too close to turn away, the horrified sailor sees that the sirens are nothing but a bunch of jagged rocks. *crash* :|

Unbelieveable. Anyway, getting ready to shave/shower and go get my keys. Pics of empty apartment to follow! :)

At the last place they were like that. They ended up not fixing the shower problem for 3 years. I am happy with my current apt. They are really nice.

I am SOOO glad I only had to live in my apt for little over a month until I found a house with a roommate.

My front door looked like it was kicked in. The gap on the lock side went from the thickness of a creit card to almost half an inch.

My complex pulled a similar stunt not too long ago. THe biggest thing that sticks out in my mind is that they were supposed to have a cieling fan installed in my bedroom within the first week. One year and 2 months later....

During that time I have compiled a list of about 3 dozen things that are wrong with the place. Gave them the list (which included a screwed up washing machine, and a leaky kitched faucet among many others.) They came in the other day (two days after renewing the lease) and managed to simply look at the washer, turn off water to the kitchen, and even break the silverware drawer. Haven't seen the maintenance people since.

My former complex was actually always very helpful through out my lease.

Wow, mine was the opposite. The appartment manager lady was horrible until I sent in the first check.

At my home-home response time is about 2 weeks for non-emergency situations.

At my apartment near school response time is 48 hours for non-emergency situations.

On occasion I have considered court intervention.

I lucked out with my apartment manager.

I call in for any little problem and most of the time it has been fixed the same day.

Do you have a video carmera??

If so shot the place before you move in and when you leave ANY apartment shot it again. That way if they say XYZ needs to be Cleaned/replaced then you have footage to prove other wise. Saved me over $300 in just one apartment.
