Apartment/house listings that don't say where it's located.

I see a lot of apartment or house-for-rent listings that don't say where the property is located. The most specific location information I have for such listings is the ZIP code, because that's what I used to search for something in the first place.
No pictures, no good description.

"2br apt. $500/month. Off-street parking. Call xxx-xxx-xxx."

Wow. That's descriptive. Maybe that kind of communique was a good idea back when you were charged by the letter to send a telegram*, but whole words are usually quite cheap on the Internet these days. (* - This is merely my best guess at how it worked.)

Garage? Utility hookups? Address? Neighbors who engage in dark rituals and howler monkey sacrifices? Pictures? Anything??

Is there a good reason to avoid posting this kind of information, or are people really just that damned lazy?

In boston those listings usually meant you will deal with a douchebag realtor who tries to extort an extra month of rent as their fee.

I'd avoid, they probably have something to hide, like the fact that the previous owner had lot of failed experiments with nuclear fission. That's not a radon mitigation system you see in the picture.
