Apartment Health Inspection

I'm in an apartment right now that has roaches running around in the kitchen. I don't live dirty but they are all around. I've told the landlord twice and its been like this for the past 2 months. Is there any heath hazards I could bust them with so I can get out of my lease with no penalty?
 
Go buy some traps or poison. Take care of it yourself if it's not a huge undertaking.

Not sure what the inspector will say or do, though I'm sure the landlord will be annoyed that you invited one over. The inspector might care more if you had a small child there.
 
Oh gross. Yes, look up roaches and disease. They carry a multitude of nastiness.

Even if you try and treat it locally they will still be in the other units. My best friends GF moved into a place that had roaches. She would bring them down to the office and show them everytime a dead one was found. Finally she demanded to get out and they fought her a bit. She threatened to sue and theey gave in. Try that.

It could very well be the kitchen in the next apartment over/up/down. Personally I'd write a letter detailing the problem, citing health concerns and stating it is now not fit for habitation, requesting pest treatment by a reputable company by a specific date (2 weeks), mentioning that failure to do so will in my eyes constitute a breach of the lease and allow me to terminate and move immediately with no penalty or damages, and copy it to your local health department.

But that's just me.
