Apartment complex requesting 60 days move out notice?

My lease is officially 30 days notice although last year they asked for 60 days notice and a full year renewal (with no changes). This year they asked for 60 notice with change in terms (higher rent by $100).

I never made a big deal of it because I wanted to have as good a relationship with the agency as possible. Didn't want anyone creating reasons for me to not get my security deposit back.

So I'm in that 2 month gap of already committing to vacate, but around here, nothing is yet available for July 1. It seems like places come on the market and are taken very quickly. Most places listed are late May or June 1. It's a little nerve racking knowing I'll be sitting on my hands for several more weeks. I've already looked at a number of places, and I'll get funny looks if I dare ask about the possibility of them holding the apartment for a month.
