Apache down near the Iraqi/Kuwaiti border? EDIT: Appears to be back in operation

There was a downed chopper, but last I heard, a perimeter was set up, it was repaired, and took off again. No one on board was reported as injured.

Those were the spec ops guys last night. They were secretly infiltrating Iraq, but then there secret was lost when they had to make a 'hard' landing (???) This forced them to destroy the helicopter after deploying to cover the evidence.

Actually what happened was a special ops helicopter had a very hard landing last night and had to be abandoned. The US blew it up to destroy sensitive materials.

There was more then one chopper. I been listening all day on the radio, and they said that theother onw was repaired and lifted off. They did destroy one, but not both.

MSNBC now reporting the Apache took fire, made a hard landing and made it back into the air.

Everyone is apparently ok.

? A Special Forces helicopter crashed in the southern Iraqi "no-fly" zone Wednesday before the attack began, a Pentagon official said. No one on board was injured, and all were evacuated, CNN has learned. A coalition airstrike later destroyed the damage. (MH-53J Pave Low III)
