Apacer Virtual Channel Memory Chip & MSI K7T Turbo Raid Motherboard

Yesterday I bought a Apacer 256MB memory chip with virtual channel support. I installed into my MSI K7T Turbo with RAID and the system hanged at memory test. The system displayed the wrong memory size of 548 MBytes. I checked MSI website for new BIOS version (I am using version 2.4) but non of the newer version indicate that it will solve the Apacer memory chip detection problem. I am not certain whether I should try version 2.8. The latest documentation says that the motherboard does support virtual channel memory.

I hope someone can show me the way.
